Discover the BerlinZEIT! On the 1st and 2nd floors of the Museum Ephraim-Palais, it offers an entertaining discovery tour through the centuries and at the same time a comprehensive overview of the sometimes revolutionary events in this city. The exhibition can be experienced with all the senses. Feel medieval fabrics, smell your way back to 1740, see the original padlock from the Brandenburg Gate and listen to interviews with people who shaped Berlin at the time of reunification.
And that’s not all that awaits you on this day of action! A family tour through ‘BerlinZEIT’ offers fun for young and old. On the ‘Freistellen’ in the exhibition, we recall the last anti-colonial freedom movement in Africa, which was also active from Berlin. The Schlütersaal is transformed into a colourful fairytale world for children. And on the 3rd floor, the special photographic presentation Berlin im Blick shows temporary, personal perspectives on the city.
Sunday at the Nikolai Quarter
With this day of action, the Stadtmuseum Berlin is continuing the popular Museum Sunday, which unfortunately cannot be continued in 2025 due to cost-cutting measures by the Berlin Senate. Instead, on the first Sunday of the month, we will be offering a special, wide-ranging programme for everyone at our three museums in the Nikolai Quarter – families in particular are cordially invited. So you can still look forward to great programmes at the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the Museum Nikolaikirche and the Museum Knoblauchhaus!
Even if admission can no longer be free for everyone, it will at least remain so for many: Our solidarity pricing model offers free admission for visitors with proof of discount, for example for children and young people under the age of 18, students, trainees, FSJ, FÖJ and BFD volunteers, severely disabled people, refugees, recipients of citizen’s allowance or ALG I and many others. All others only pay the museum entrance fee and can benefit from our discounted combi-ticket for all three museums. The extensive day of action programme is included in the price!
