Janet Amon was visiting friends in Berlin when she was robbed at night. She lost her phone and the last of her money and became stranded during the Covid-19 pandemic. Previously homeless in several other cities, her story in Berlin also begins on the streets.

On her tour from Alexanderplatz to the Humboldt Forum, Janet shares her experiences as a woman facing homelessness. She talks about everyday basic needs such as hygiene, her struggles with addiction, the importance of community and why a shelter alone isn’t a sufficient solution. She also addresses the prevalent street violence that impacts women in particular.

Janet talks about her journey from the streets to finding a new home and how her experiences along the way led to her becoming politically active.

The tour will be held in German.
