Duration

In films and pictures, the Middle Ages are often portrayed as dull and colourless. But that’s not true. Eight centuries ago, people in our region already knew how to bring colour into everyday life. Find out how they did it!

A live speaker (in German) will give a practical demonstration of how – and above all with what – clothes were dyed in the Middle Ages. There will also be a wide range of other offers on the topic. The Flouq educational centre’s stand will be offering dyeing and craft kits as well as workshops for children. The Ort-schafft-Material team invites children to get creative on the spot. They will learn about the surprising materials used to create colours. And this time you can not only enjoy crispy stick bread freshly roasted from the open fire, but also colour it in bright shades beforehand!
