Berlin’s 750th anniversary

Numerous events were held in both parts of the city to mark Berlin’s 750^th anniversary. In East Berlin, the main focus was on historical heritage. The highlight was the big parade which took place on 4^th July 1987 in Berlin Mitte with over 40,000 participants. The parade in Berlin Pankow, which took place a few weeks later, was also photographed by Schwarzer.
